Esurance, NBA and Bleacher Report Top Twitter in Weekly Ranking


For the week of February 8 – February 14, 2016, U.S. brands captured 84.4 million total actions (likes and retweets) from tweets published on Twitter. Powered by Shareablee data, the top brand on Twitter for each respective industry is shown in the ranking below. NBA (Sports) was the top brand in the ranking with nearly 1.1 million Twitter actions, followed by Bleacher Report (Media Publisher) with nearly 884,000 actions. NBA's top tweets were highlights from the dunk contest during the NBA All-Star weekend. Bleacher Report also captured the most Twitter engagement from NBA All-Star highlights, as well as from a post about Peyton Manning making Super Bowl history. Esurance (Financial Services) came in a close third with more than 826,000 actions due to a 216% increase in likes and retweets on Twitter, driven by its #EsuranceSweepstakes Super Bowl campaign.

Pepsi (Consumer Goods), a newcomer to the ranking, saw the highest growth of any Top Ten brand compared to the previous week at 396%, due to its posts featuring sweepstakes surrounding the Super Bowl #PepsiHalftime show. Of the top performing brands, Malan Breton (Fashion), captured the highest actions per tweet, driven by tweets featuring its NYFW Fall/Winter 2016 Collection.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (Presidential Candidate) was the most socially engaged presidential candidate on Twitter during the week of February 8 – February 14, capturing 135% more Twitter likes and retweets than the next best performing candidate, Ted Cruz. Bernie Sanders' top content was led by tweets on college tuition and climate change.
