5 Traffic Strategies Of Shawn Casey, Internet Marketer & Attorney

You do not have to be an expert webmaster or copywriter to drive traffic to your site or blog. Last night I logged into Success University and took a course on the subject of traffic with noted Internet marketer and attorney Shawn Casey. It was about a 35 minute audio presentation with the most important point being to simply take action.

I’ve often found myself in the “Paralysis by Analysis” boat so it was good to hear a message of avoiding it from a guy of his stature.

Strategy 1: Get Your Own Website

Casey said that you absolutely need your own website and that you will never get search engine optimization using generic affiliate sites. I agree with that and will add that it’s much easier to start and maintain a blog, but that’s my opinion. One thing he said that I found compelling was that you should never submit your site to search engines and that it actually works against your ranking. It is much better for their spiders to find you with updated content.

If you are not a webmaster or technically savy, you can do a search for hosting providers that have easy to use templates you can use to cut and past your way to a descent looking site. Once you find a hosting company you’ll need to purchase your domain name or URL if you haven’t already done so. If you haven’t, my suggestion on this is as follows:

*** If you’re hosting company sells domain names, keep it under the same roof and buy it (register it) with them. You can probably get it cheaper elsewhere but it is one less thing you have to deal with when you point your URL to your site.

Strategy 2: Keep Your Content Fresh

Search engine spiders like fresh content and on the Internet, content is king. In Shawn Casey’s explanation, he stresses that you do not need to be perfect; you need to be consistent. Write about things you’ve recently learned, what your thoughts are, anything, just do it and do it regularly.

If you don’t like to write at all, Casey suggests going to article directories to use other authors’ articles to put on your site as fresh content. You must, however, keep the author’s resource box in tact with the article when using their material.

Three of the more popular article directories are:

•isnare.com

•goarticles.com

•ezinearticles.com

There are hundreds of others smaller ones. If you are taking the blog approach, you will want to let the search engines know every time you update your site with fresh content with a process called “Pinging”. The easiest way to do this is to go to “pingomatic.com” , enter your URL and/or RSS feed link, and request pings. Within seconds, you get messages of which engines accepted your ping request.

Strategy 3 – Get Links Back to Your Site (Reciprocal Linking)

Casey, and many other successful marketers, contend that in order to get top search engine ranking, you need other websites out there linking back to yours. The more websites linking to your website, the higher your raking will be. He says that you can do this manually but it would take a lot of time and work.

Instead, he recommends using Link Metro by Brad Callen. (As I write this, it’s Father’s Day and I remember getting a notice recently that Brad just became a father so props to him and all the others out there!) With an advanced membership which is only $20 a month, you can completely automate and monitor your link building efforts. I can’t expound on it because I just learned about it last night from Shawn Casey, but I will say I’ve used other products from Brad Callen and have found them to be useful so I will give this a try and let you know how it goes later on my work at home weblog nathangurley.com. Shawn Casey endorses it wholeheartedly and there are countless other believable testimonials on there so I’ll give it a shot soon.

Strategy 4 – Press Releases

Another strategy Shawn Casey discusses on his Success University course is the use of press releases. Again he stresses that it doesn’t have to be perfect or a literary masterpiece. Just write the thing and get it out there with links back to your site. Like strategy three he says there are free to submit to press release sites but doesn’t necessarily regard them highly. Here he recommends PRWeb.com where the PR is short for,you guessed it, press release. With the increasing number of people getting their news from the web and avoiding traditional forms of media (probably because they are so biased), news distribution on the web is firmly planted and the search engines are not only part of it, they are competing to get it in front of you and people with news are competing to get it on the search engines so it should be a healthy market for years to come.

Strategy 5 – Article Marketing

In Strategy 2, Casey discussed getting fresh content from articles directories. You can be on the reverse side of that and get reciprocal links using a technique known as Article Marketing. Instead of going to these directories to get content, Casey suggests writing content and submitting them yourself. What happens is, you become the author and the expert and your links are in your author reference box pointing back to your site. Once your article is accepted, you get instant credibility and links back to your site. If others like what you wrote and put your article on their site you get more links back. It's almost like creating viral traffic.

For those who still do not want to write, Casey suggests going to elance.com where he says you can hire people to write articles for you. Either way, the reputable directories do not like self-promotion and affiliate links and such in your articles. They want information that others will find useful and will reject your submissions if you are merely trying to promote yourself.

Simply write useful information that people can use and use the strategies discussed by Sean Casey and you will get traffic.

5 Top Reasons Impatient Business Owners Should Say "control Myself"

This article is from your MYB Consultancy for small business owners, in fact any business owner

Online Business Education – Operational Risk Management Training

Impatience drives me crazy when I see small business owners being impatient. Working as a business consultant as I do, I see this all the time. If my business owner client is to get the best value from our work they will need to get some balance into their ways, otherwise impatience will hold them back from being the successful business owner they want to be. Who wants to be held back? NOT you.

Patience is a virtue – isn’t that what we’ve always heard. Don’t be too patient though, don’t use it as an excuse to be lazy.

The right balance of patience will help you move forward to improved results. Take a look at these 5 Top Reasons why:

1.You need to complete what you start. Impatient people often don’t complete what they start and therefore don’t make too much progress. In business you need to finish each of your goals. Completed goals bring you a great sense of success and achievement. Successful people complete tasks.

2.You need to stop and listen. Impatient people don’t often take enough notice of what their people are saying around them. In business you need to hear what these people are saying. Rather than just an OK result, pool ideas to achieve a more powerful outcome. Successful people listen.

3.You need to plan. Impatient people often just jump in and get started right away. Part way through the job they find too many problems they hadn’t anticipated. It’s easier to complete a task when you plan what to do. You can enjoy yourself more when you make plans and achieve them. Successful people plan.

4.You need to consult. Impatient people don’t stop to ask others what they have found out about similar tasks. They often make decisions without learning some facts. Facts are very helpful when you are taking actions to develop your business. Don’t just go along with your limited ideas; be like successful people who consult. Successful people consult.

5.You need to share. Sharing ideas with the people around you helps you more than you think. It motivates people to make suggestions and provide you with support. No business owner can achieve success on their own. Sharing with a team of people helps you and it helps them. Successful people share.

When you have a new idea or task to do, remind yourself to “control yourself”. You need to become more patient to be more successful. Use these 5 Top Reasons as your guide. Business and personal growth is the linchpin for great business owners. Take advantage of FREE online business coaching and maximise your Operational Risk Management Training opportunity. Success is what you and I both want for everyone.

Impatient business owners should say this over and over “control myself”

5 Top Considerations To SEO

Search Engine Optimization, a.k.a. SEO, is a process by which a website becomes visible on the search engine's radars. Considering the fact that there are over 4 billion publicly accessible websites on the Internet, being visible when a potential customer performs a search on Google or Yahoo is crucial. If your website does not show up within first couple of pages of results, there is a very slim chance that the potential customer will be able to locate your website.

When starting on the SEO journey, do not expect immediate results. Website's position on the search engine is like cheese - as it gets better with time! When internet was in its infancy, there was no need to optimize the site for the search engines to see it. Back then a robot (a.k.a. search spider) was able to traverse all of the sites on the Internet within few hours. Nowadays, the size of websites present on the internet is measured in petabytes(PB) (next level up from terabytes) and it takes search engines at least 72 hours to go through and index the pages.

SEO is all about establishing necessary components for the website to become search engine friendly. It starts with every page on the website having meaningful title and description. It also involves having researched a list of keywords and selected the ones that pertain to the site's content. After that it is a matter of submissions to the search engine queues and establishing link exchanges.

When considering hiring someone to perform SEO for your website make sure to spend the time and research the company. Here are a few questions to ask:

1. Does the company have previous experience with SEO?

2. What is their website's position on Google and Yahoo? If they can't optimize their site what are the chances they'll succeed with yours?

3. What is their strategy for your website? While most SEO companies won't go into detail on how they would perform SEO, they should be able to explain WHAT they have planned for your site.

4. Will the SEO Company use automated program and blast-submit your site to the search engines or do it manually? While faster and cheaper, blast-submitting a website is not without repercussions. To name a few:

---A. Your site might get submitted to adult content search engines.

---B. Your site may not be admitted to be listed as some search engines consider blast-submission a form of spam and either remove these entries from their directories or block them from being entered via CAPTCHA (challenge-response test used in computing to determine whether the user is human) in the first place.

---C. Your site might get submitted to a "link-farm".

5. The minimum amount of time necessary to make any difference in Search Engine position is about three months. In most cases, it is more likely to take about 6-8 months due to aging algorithm implemented by most Search Engines! If the company "guarantees" the top search engine position ask the following questions:

---A. Are they planning to use pay-per-click or pay-per-keyword as the strategy of getting your site to the top? While both strategies are fine, they are very costly and temporary alternatives to solid SEO practice.

---B. Is the person you hired happened to be Larry Page, founder of Google? Because anyone else won't be able to make such a guarantee.

Inexperienced SEO person can cause more damage than benefits to the site's position. You, as a site owner, would ultimately have to deal with the search engines, if your site gets in the bad neighborhood.

It's important to remember that participating in a successful trade show requires a lot of time and effort. Underestimating the preparation and the planning necessary for a trade shows is one of the more common reasons that businesses are not successful. A good trade show booth can make the difference between a good experience and an extraordinary one.

Tip #1: Color

One of the first things that your customers see when they are enter the trade show is the color. It's important to have an inviting or bold graphic display with colors that will attract and intrigue your customers. Use bright, happy colors as they signify energy and class.

Use your graphic display to it's full advantage. Add specific text and other graphic elements that will uniquely identify your business so that your display will be memorable.

Not many exhibitors take advantage of pre-show promotions. This is an excellent marketing tool as it allows you to sort through the visitors that you will receive. You'll know which are the best prospects and you can make sure that they are aware of your presence in the trade show. You have numerous media options such as e-mails, invitations, free mail offers (take for example a free product received when you show the mail offer at the booth).

Here are some ideas: notepads with your signage, bags, pens, water bottles and totes with your name and logo.

The success of your trade show booth comes from one word: BALANCE. It's important to make your trade show display an inviting place that is interesting without being cluttered. The tools of your marketing strategy: presentation, contests, interactive elements and media presentations can introduce your business and your products/services to all prospects making sure they have a unforgettable experience.

5 Tried And True Internet Marketing Strategies

If you have an internet business and you are looking for excellent marketing strategies, it is often best to start out with strategies that have been successful for others. You want to choose marketing strategies that will bring excellent results when you use them. There are a variety of internet marketing strategies available, but the following are five strategies that have proven themselves effective over and over again.

Strategy #1 - Search Engine Optimization

One of the best internet marketing strategies to help you market your product or services is search engine optimization. This marketing strategy focuses on optimizing your site to be best found by popular search engines such as Yahoo and Google. Before you can make this strategy effective, it is important that you understand how search engine optimization works. If you are unfamiliar with this concept, it may be best to hire someone to help you with this type of marketing.

Strategy #2 - Newsletters

Another internet marketing strategy that has proven to be successful is e-newsletter marketing. This type of marketing works by allowing site visitors to sign up for your emails, and then you can periodically send out newsletters updating them on your business and making special offers to draw them back to your site. If you choose to use this strategy it is important that you only send these newsletters to those who sign up for them.

Strategy #3 - Pay Per Click Ads

A very popular form of internet marketing is using pay per click ads, which are both easy to use and cost-effective as well. You can sign up with various search engines to have your ad show up as a result for specific keywords and you will only have to pay if people click on your site. Many have found this internet marketing strategy to be one of the most effective strategies available.

Strategy #4 - Link Exchanging

A newer internet marketing strategy is link exchanging. This strategy basically works by having various websites exchange links. You can ask another site to provide a link to your site, and in return you will put a link to their site on yours. This works to be mutually beneficial for both businesses, and while it provides more web traffic, it can also help increase rank on search engines as well.

Strategy #5 - Web Banners

Web banners are another type of internet marketing strategy that has been proven to be very effective. This strategy requires purchasing space on other websites such as e-zines or other sites that may be relevant to your business. In the space you purchase your ad will appear and you will benefit from the traffic of that site being interested in what you have to offer.

Each of these internet marketing strategies have proven to be great strategies that brought results. When choosing which of these strategies to use, be sure that you pick strategies that fit the nature of your business. There are many methods of internet marketing, but if you are new to the business, often using the tried and true methods can bring the best results.

5 Ways To Improve Workplace Morale

Keywords:

Increased turnovers, costly decreases in productivity and overall employee dissatisfaction are all ramifications of low morale in the workplace. Moral is a vital component of any organization or business for it to thrive and achieve success.

Here are five ways to improve workplace morale easily and inexpensively that will boost your team's performance and lower levels of tension and stress.

Install a Humor Board

Most every office has several memo boards for important work-related information, some pleasant, some not so pleasant. Install a memo board in a neutral location that is specifically for people to post jokes, cartoons, funny pictures or amusing anecdotes. This way everyone can get a little laugh after arriving for work on a dreary Monday morning.

Adopt Flextime Schedules

If possible, work out a way for employees to have more flexibility in their schedules. You may be surprised at the amount of stress that can be alleviated by this one thing. With daycares and households with two working parents, and possibly only one vehicle, this small move can be monumental to some people. Work out a schedule or system for employees to leave an hour early or come in an hour late on certain days. Alternate days and times so that everyone gets an opportunity to benefit if needed.

Get Away From It All

Hold meetings and conferences at a location away from the office if at all possible. A restaurant or local park would be a welcome alternative to a stuffy boardroom on a clear, spring day. People may be more alert and more receptive to the specifics of the meeting in another less stifling environment.

Share the Wealth

Offer employees incentives to "coach" their co-workers on their lunch or break times. Incentives could come in the form of paid time off, gift certificates to stores or restaurants, movie tickets or even small, simple mementos to show appreciation. This is a morale booster in a few ways; firstly, new or confused employees can glean valuable information from their more experienced colleagues and secondly, it may make the "coach" feel better about their job, themselves and their performance.

Offer Contests and Awards

Special days such as "Ugliest Outfit Day" or "Best Disguise Day" or "Funniest Story Day" can be a way to lighten the mood for a bit and encourage communication between employees. Offer "awards" which can be simple prizes and certificates given to the winners to display.

Boosting employee morale doesn't have to be expensive or involved. Even contagious cheerfulness on a regular basis can mean the difference between a dour workplace and a welcoming, productive one. Ask the employees for their ideas and listen to their thoughts. Work out a viable plan that will motivate them and make them more productive and happier at the same time.

5 Ways A Home Business Can Make One’s Life Easier

Home businesses come in many different shapes, sizes and forms. These types of businesses provide individuals with an alternative to the office job setting and provide various freedoms to the business owners as well. In fact, there are five often-cited ways in which a home business can make one’s life easier overall.

Child Care Issues

Perhaps one of the most often cited features of a home business which can make one’s life easier is that by owning a home business, individuals are able to work while staying at home with their children. This makes the need for daily child care a nonexistent factor. Although some individuals who work from home still opt for putting their kids in daycare, having a home business does make doing without child care a possibility.

Transportation Issues

Another way which home businesses can make a business owner’s life that much easier relates to transportation issues. When owning a home business, one can conduct their daily business affairs from the convenience of their home office. This gets rid of the need for commuting to an office each day and putting mileage on the car, not to mention paying costly gas bills. It is also a time saver with regard to not having to commute to and from work which is also a highly regarded trait of owning a home business.

Tax Deductions

One who has a home business is also able to reap the benefits of multiple tax deductions and incentives which may be available to them. Using a home office enables a business owner to save money in the long run by seeing deductions on their annual tax returns. Although this only happens once a year, the rewards are often quite good for home business owners who operate their business out of their home office.

Being Your Own Boss

An additional incentive for home business owners is that they are their own boss. This is a wonderful thing to consider. No more bossy employers enforcing strict, unyielding schedules. Being your own boss is a sure way to make one’s life easier. One can work when they want to, take a break if they like and pursue their occupation in the manner which they see fit.

Reduce Overhead This Way

Lastly, an individual who runs a business out of their home will often find that their life is made easier by saving themselves money in the end. As opposed to those individuals who own businesses which are run out of separate offices, home business owners will see large reductions in overhead. Making use of the home as a workspace is a great way to make life easier on the individual and their wallet.

5 Ways To Increase Security Levels

With the growing concern for security, there are plenty of associations and establishments that could benefit from an increase in the safety measures regarding employees, property, and information. Companies, small businesses, not-for-profit groups, and even schools should take advantage in enhancing the way they protect their interests. Below you will find a few suggestions that could help boost security for an array of different institutions:

Photo ID System

While high schools and large businesses may already utilize photo identification cards, smaller businesses and other associations might not have tapped into the convenience of such a tool. Some of the best photo ID systems are those that delegate varying levels of access according to your rank in a company. With the swipe of an electronic card, gaining entrance to top-level regions of a company are not only monitored but controlled as to who may have access to important files and other information. Implementing such a system can avoid the mishandling of vital data.

Metal Detectors and X-Ray Scans

Unfortunately, we live in a society that has made metal detectors and X-ray scans a necessary tool for increasing the security of a building. High schools and even middle schools across the country have already set up metal detectors to stop the flow of violence and weapon possession. Since drugs are becoming an increasing disturbing problem, X-ray scans may replace the strip and purse searches that are taking place in a handful of institutions. Violence also extends to the corporate world and other business settings, as disgruntled employees have been known to handle their stress in an inappropriate manner. Metal detectors and X-ray scans can avoid physical contact pertaining to employees and students.

Camera Installation

While security guards, onsite police officers, or high school principals don’t have eyes in the back of their heads, cameras may act as an extra set. Camera installation allows officials and executives to get to the root of many problems that may arise in their work setting. For example, the mysterious decrease in office supplies is finally solved through the review of several weeks of tapes or who started the food fight in lunch can be dissected. Cameras not only solve problems, but can help avoid them as well.

Enhanced Computer Protection

In some settings, the computer has become an encyclopedia of personal information regarding a company or school. Important and private files are stored and although passwords and user names are a must to gain access, they are still not 100% protected. Today, a lot of work is also completed on laptops, which are easily portable and make easy theft subjects. Buying laptop security devices allow workers to leave their office or desk without the fear of returning to a stolen computer. Security cables are used to attach the laptop to a heavy chair, table, or desk, making it quite hard for someone to run off with one.

Tightening Financial Controls

One of the biggest fears that an executive or company owner has is the threat of employee theft or dishonesty. These acts of disobedience and disregard can cost the largest businesses billions of dollars on a yearly basis. In the small company sector, embezzlement, stolen inventory, and information leakage can seriously damage the success of a business. To prevent these occurrences and loss of money, tighter financial controls should be implemented.

5 Ways To Increase Your Profits With Mailing Lists

mailing list,making more money newsletter

Do you have a mailing list? When was the last time you had a look at how profitable the list is for you and made sure everything was up to date?

You’re likely one of the many people who’ve set up their list, got busy, and then forgot about it for a while. There are many things you can do right now to start making more money with your mailing list.

1. List Checkup – Go through every single message you have in your autoresponder series. This may take you a while to get through if you have a lot of messages set up, but it’s worth it.

Recently I switched my website format over to a wordpress site and deleted a lot of the pages from the other design. I had my autoresponder setup to refer to articles on my older site and with the update these were out of date and needed fixing, so I had to go back in and change the links. If your series of messages are too long and it’s just too much to handle by yourself hire a VA to help.

2. Opt-in Location – Do people know about your list? Don’t assume everyone will find you because you have an opt-in box in one or two locations on your website.

When setting up your list and describing it you’ll want to make sure that you deliver exactly what you offer then and beyond. A bullet-point list works well to let people know what your list offers without requiring too much of their attention to get them to read.

Many people make their list stand out by offering up a free ebook or report for signing up to the list. Other ideas are offer up an audio or a video. Whatever you offer make sure it is of high valuable and something that makes signing up for your list irresistible.

3. Add landing pages - You should be using double opt-ins to make sure your list has really requested to sign up. After the initial sign-up you will be able to direct them to a landing page. Make sure that landing page they come to grabs their attention and tells them to confirm, you could use something like this:

IMPORTANT: Please check your email inbox and confirm your subscription so that we can send you the information you requested.

Use that landing page to make an offer on your own product or offer an affiliate product. Or if you have a service based-business and want them to get to know you better then direct them to your articles page.

Once they confirm in their email you will be given another opportunity to create a specific landing page. Use that page to make another offer, or lead them to your website to read more information or articles.

You’ve got people’s attention once they get to your landing page and they HAVE to go somewhere once they’re done - it might as well be somewhere you can suggest to them so that you benefit from it.

4. Promote – Think of the places where you promote your list. Is it just in one little box on your website? There are many other places that you should be using to promote your mailing list.

Write articles that you submit to directories that have a bio leading to your opt-in page.

Make a special offer in your signature on forums (if they allow it)

Add a signature to your emails that tells people why they need to sign up for your list

Blog about your list and why they should join it

5. Contact as often as possible - You’ve heard this before but it’s time for a reminder. If your prospects don’t hear from you on a regular basis then they will forget about you and why the signed up in the first place.

How often you contact them will depend on what your list is about but it’s often said that you must be making contact at least once a month if you want to be remembered. Many topics will require you to contact your list once a week and this is perfectly acceptable to them because they asked for this information.

5 Ways To Keep Your Web Visitors Coming Back

1) Start a forum, chatroo...

Keywords:

internet marketing,web traffic,seo,business

A lot of successful websites depend on returning visitors to account for a major part of their traffic.

Once you have a visitor it is well worth keeping him or her coming back.

Returning visitors are easier to convert into paying customers because the more often they return to a site, the more trust they have in that site. The credibility issue just melts away.

Hence, keep your visitors coming back to your site with the following methods:

1) Start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox

When you start a forum, chatroom or shoutbox, you are providing your visitors a place to voice their opinions and interact with their peers -- all of them are visitors of your site. As conversations build up, a sense of community will also follow and your visitors will come back to your site almost religiously every day.

2) Start a web log (blog)

Keep an online journal, or more commonly known as a blog, on your site and keep it updated with latest news about yourself. Human beings are curious creatures and they will keep their eyes glued to the monitor if you post fresh news frequently. You will also build up your credibility as you are proving to them that there is also a real life person behind the website.

3) Carry out polls or surveys

Polls and surveys are other forms of interaction that you should definitely consider adding to your site. They provide a quick way for visitors to voice their opinions and to get involved in your website. Be sure to publish polls or surveys that are strongly relevant to the target market of your website to keep them interested to find out about the results.

4) Hold puzzles, quizzes and games

Just imagine how many office workers procrastinate at work every day, and you will be able to gauge how many people will keep visiting your site if you provide a very interesting or addicting way of entertainment. You can also hold competitions to award the high score winner to keep people trying continuously to earn the prize.

5) Update frequently with fresh content

Update your site frequently with fresh content so that every time your visitors come back, they will have something to read on your site. This is the most widely known and most effective method of attracting returning visitors, but this is also the least carried out one because of the laziness of webmasters. No one will want to browse a site that looks the same over ten years, so keep your site updated with fresh bites!

You have the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to succeed and yet, you’re still earning a pittance. If this sounds sadly familiar, what you need is a definite change in attitude to have a brighter future.

Take Risks If You Want to Earn Money

The word “risk” itself is sometimes enough to strike terror in people’s hearts. The word “risk” usually represents fear of the unknown and some people would rather not confront their fears – even if they’re offered the greatest rewards – when they can always choose to stay in their comfort zone.

If you want to earn money right now, you need to develop the courage to take risks. But be sure, of course, that you don’t get foolhardy and just leave your future completely in the hands of fate. Be daring, but don’t forget to act smart.

Be Eager to Learn If You Want to Earn Money

You can never be too thin, too rich, or in this case, too smart. There’s always room for improvement and having a sincere keenness to learn will allow you to not only earn money right now but to continue doing so in the far future. Never allow yourself to think that you already know everything there is to a certain business because when you do, that’s the time you’ll stop improving, and this gives your competitors a chance to sneak up on you.

Be Passionate If You Want to Earn Money

To earn money, you have to find something that you can care for and grow with for the rest of your life. Even if you’re earning lots of money right now from a job that you certainly don’t love, it will always ultimately end in your defeat. If you want to earn money right now and continue doing so, you need to find a job or business that you can be passionate about and never lose interest in. You – and your business – must evolve together if you wish to start and continue earning money.

Be Thrifty If You Want to Earn Money

Wealth isn’t just produced by making money. In fact, that’s just a part of it. Wealth is more importantly and mostly produced by knowing how to save money as well. You need to really understand the value of money if you want to start earning it right now. And if you do understand it, then you’ll also understand the need to be thrifty. Don’t spend if you don’t have to. Don’t spend if you can’t afford to. These are painfully simple rules to live by, but most people end up ignoring them because the opposites are sometimes just too sinfully tempting.

Do Right If You Want to Earn Money

Playing fair and square may be the long and hard road to accumulating wealth, but rest assured that it will deliver on its promise and it will end as you desire. Ignoring ethics and morals, on the other hand, may be rewarding at first but you’ll still lose in the end. If you want to earn money and continue doing so, you need to understand that a business can’t exist alone. It needs the help, support, and trust of its clients, suppliers, distributors, retailers, employees, and everyone else that it interacts with – but how can that be possible if the company doesn’t play fair?

6 Common Product Sourcing Questions Answered

If you’ve got a question about your E-Biz, someone else has probably already asked it. Matthew Hedges, customer support manager for product sourcing experts http://www.worldwidebrands.com, and author of The Online Research Guide to Picking Products That Sell, answers the six most common product sourcing questions he gets from customers looking to start an E-Biz:

1. Will suppliers care if I’m a new online retailer working from home?

Generally no. Says Hedges, “They want to get their product out to consumers as much as possible, so they’re looking to open new accounts.”

2. How can I convey to a supplier that I’m a serious professional, not a fly-by-night home business?

• Before you call or email questions to a supplier, read their web site. The answers are often right in front of you. Wasting their time with questions you could have easily found answers to yourself reflects poorly on you.

• When you contact a supplier — get to the point. Wholesale suppliers are busy people. They want to help their retailers but don’t have time to chit-chat. So get to the meat of your question as quickly as possible.

• Proofread and spell check your emails. An email full of typos, sentence fragments, and run-ons doesn't convey professionalism.

• Be patient. Just because a supplier doesn’t respond to your questions the same day you send them is no reason to get agitated. If they think you’re going to be a demanding customer, chances are they won’t work with you.

3. I found a supplier I want to work with — what’s my first step?

Your first step is to check for an online account setup form and fill it out. Real wholesale suppliers need proof you're a legitimate retailer to give you access to their actual wholesale pricing structure and set you up with an account. You'll need a registered business name and tax ID to work with real wholesalers. Obtaining these documents is easy — just contact your local County Clerks Office.

4. I only want to sell popular name brand items — how do I get a supplier?

You can’t afford to limit yourself to selling only brands you recognize. Your research should predicate your product line. Many brands you’ve never heard of are very popular within certain demographics.

5. Should I be focusing on “hot sellers” like iPods, gaming consoles, designer clothes, and DVDs? Can I drop ship them?

Once everyone knows an item’s hot, the market becomes saturated. The demand is there, but the supply is too. Everyone tries to undercut everyone else, and the profit margins get really slim.

Beyond that, the manufacturers of these items set astronomical buying minimums — say $100,000 each contract term. You could mortgage your house to meet the minimum, and your wholesale prices would still be much higher than those of the big chains that get additional discounts for spending millions with suppliers.

Finding a supplier who’ll drop ship these items individually is almost impossible. It’s cost-prohibitive for them — especially in clothing where the return rates are usually high. And again, your wholesale rate for one item won’t let you compete with sellers buying in bulk.

6. There’s an item I really want to sell, but I can’t find a supplier who’ll work with me — what now?

Keep looking. If after you’ve researched, you still can’t find a supplier for that particular item, don’t give up altogether — just consider other product options. There are millions of products you can sell. Hedges advises, “You can find items that let you compete, but you have to base your product choices off your market research.”

5 Ways To Market Your Article

Keywords:

article marketing, one way linking

Like most online marketing methods, there's always more than one right way to get the job done. Article marketing is quickly being adopted as the preferred choice for gathering up targeted website traffic.

Use the following ideas to reach a wider and more diverse visitor base with your articles.

1) Submit to the top 10 article directories

How do you know which directories should be in your top 10 list? You have to research and rank them. You may wish to post to general as well as niche article directories depending on your topic.

Use a common set of criteria to rank each directory. A few important criteria that I use are site age, pagerank, friendly approval process, and ease of use.

I submit to several article directories which get spidered by search engines every few hours. These are the types of directories that search engines love and rank higher as a result.

2) Compile your 10 articles and create an ebook

After you've completed and submitted your articles to directories, compile your articles into a single ebook.

Add a cover page, title page, and resource section. Then submit your book to ebook directories. This will get you more exposure than submitting to article directories alone.

Be sure to include a link to your website on your ebook's title page and resource page.

3) Offer exclusive content to webmasters – for free

You won't be able to use your submitted articles, but you can write 5 to 10 additional articles. Offer them to a single webmaster for exclusive use.

Make sure you get a link back to your site from the bottom of each article. Check out each site using Alexa to gauge how many visitors the site received.

4) Use your blog to submit the articles

Take each of your 10 articles you wrote initially, break them into smaller chunks. Post your article "chunks" on your blog.

The key to this technique is to put more personality into the articles. Spin the articles a little to make sure you catch your voice. This should be fairly easy if you keep each post to 200 words or less.

You should also change the title enough so it can get picked up by different syndication services and social networking sites.

5) Repeat steps 1-4 above

Article marketing should be repeated every month. It's the "feeding" of the search engines with fresh, new content that gets the search engines to love your site.

As you finish a batch of 10 articles, add it to your ebook. What would happen if you had an ebook that was 100+ pages long? Would you, as a site visitor, be willing to give out your name and email address if someone offered you a free resource that was over 100 pages? I would.

As you seek out more creative ways to market your site, don't neglect the methods you may already be applying. Make the most of each marketing technique to diversify your traffic and increase your sales.

6 Free Keyword Marketing Research Tools

One of the toughest decisions that internet marketers must make when when writing articles and website content is what keywords they should optimize the site for. This is not a simple question to answer. When you are trying to get a high search engine ranking for a specific keyword, your keyword relevance is critical. This article discusses some free keyword marketing research tolls to make this task simpler.

The first step in choosing the right keywords is to brainstorm. Most of the time this can be done in a few minutes.

If you choose keywords that millions of others are using to promote their websites, your chances of getting a high page ranking are slim to none. Even if there are just a few thousand, you may have challenges if there are only a couple of dozen people using that keyword in their search. What you need are the keywords with least supply from other websites and high demand from search engine users.

For a while, http://inventory.overture.com was a popular free keyword marketing research tool. This tool, however, may no longer be available form Yahoo.

1 . http://www.pixelfast.com/overture/

This overture based tool appears to still be working. It will give the same results as inventory.overture.com. Simply type your keyword phrase in the box on the top left corner and click GO.

2. http://www.vretoolbar.com/keywords/

This tool also uses the Overture database. Just type your keyword phrase in the search box, and click on Suggest. If you get an error message, keep clicking on Suggest until the results display.

3. http://www.domaincountry.com/

This tool is a useful free keyword marketing research tool that gives two different database results for your key phrases. There is no search button so you will need to press ENTER to conduct the search.

4. Niche Taxi

Niche taxi works well as a free keyword marketing research tool. Just enter your keyword phrase in the search box and click OK. Check the box below the search box that says, "I Agree to the http://nichetaxi.com Terms & Conditions" Niche Taxi will then give you a list of results.

5. Nichebotclassic

Enter the keyword phrase into the search box and click search. This free keyword marketing research tool gives ten results with numbers saying how many searches were made during the last month. You can then click on on the words to drill down into the niche.

6. Google Adwords Keyword Research Tool

This is the research tool Google has put together. Look for higher search volume for your main keyword and then smaller search volume for your niche keywords within those phrases.

These free keyword marketing research tools will help you find the bottom feeding keywords you need to optimize your articles and website.

5 Ways To Utilize Direct Email Marketing

If you own an online business, you are probably always on the lookout for new forms of Internet marketing. As you have no doubt discovered, there are many different ways to market your business online. One of the best and least expensive is direct email marketing.

Direct email marketing is a simple, but effective form of Internet marketing. It allows you to reach your customers, and provide them with information that you want them to see. Direct email marketing is very similar to classical direct marketing, but is much less expensive because you don't have to pay for stamps, paper, return envelopes, and printing costs. Yet, at the same time, direct email marketing has all of the benefits of direct mail.

For example, direct email marketing can be used before and after a sale. You can utilize this form of Internet marketing to promote products, provide news, and to send confirmations and thank-you notes. Many of your website visitors will up to sign up for regular emails and offers. Take advantage of their interest and tell them more about your business.

If you don't have time to send the emails yourself, you may choose to use email autoresponders. Email autoresponders are triggered when an email is sent to you. If you are unavailable, email autoresponders can contact the customer for you, providing order confirmations, information requests, etc.

If you're not sure where or how to get started, here are five tips that will allow you to easily incorporate direct email marketing into you Internet marketing strategy.

Use a Professional Email Signature

This is an important part of direct email marketing. Every time you send a business email, you should include a professional signature at the bottom. Your signature should include your name, business name, and full web address. This is like free advertising for you. Plus, the person opening the email has instant access to your information. If they need to contact you, they will know exactly how to do it.

Find an Affiliate

An affiliate, or signature buddy, can step up your Internet marketing campaign and allow you to reach more customers. Simply ask someone to include your web address below their own signature every time they send an email. In return, you can add their web address to every email that you send below your signature. The benefit is obvious. You both get free advertising. However, you should keep in mind that this form of Internet marketing works best when you don't pick someone who has a competing business.

Create a Newsletter

A newsletter or e-zine should be included in your Internet marketing strategy. A free newsletter takes a bit of time every month to create, but it is well worth the effort. Newsletters are an effective form of direct email marketing, and can be used to promote your products and services. If you don't have time to produce a quality newsletter yourself, you can hire a freelancer to do it for you.

Send Coupons

Everyone loves coupons. Make them part of your direct email marketing campaign. Send coupons for your products and services to your customers on a regular basis. Use them as promotional tools to increase business and increase sales.

Send Thank You Notes

Using an email autoresponder to send thank you notes to your customers after the sale is a polite gesture. It's also Internet marketing at its finest. Thank show your appreciation and should be incorporated into your direct email marketing if at all possible. Sending a thank you note is polite and an example of good customer service.

5 Ways To Lose Respect As An Seo

search engine marketing, search engine optimization, seo

The world of search engine optimization is quite competitive. For a search engine optimization company to be successful, it is important to develop a strong, well-respected online presence. Here are five ways that are guaranteed to keep your SEO company from gaining respect:

1) A poorly designed web site

Nothing says “amateur” like a poorly designed web site. If your web site looks like it was created by an eleven year old with Microsoft FrontPage, you are going to have an extremely hard time convincing people to hire you. Even though you may be an SEO and not a web designer, people still expect your web site to have a professional appearance. Showing your potential clients your unattractive web site is like showing up to a job interview in shorts and a t-shirt. If you don’t have an eye for web design, do yourself a favor and hire a web designer to create a professional looking web site for your company.

2) Ranking poorly for your company’s name

If you really want to ensure that no one hires you for your search engine optimization services, make sure that your company web site ranks poorly in Google for its own name. Better yet, make sure it doesn’t even get indexed! If you cannot even get your company’s web site to rank well for its own name, chances are search engine optimization is not the field for you. You don’t have to rank on the first page of Google for search engine optimization or search engine marketing (although it is very useful if you do), but at least rank number one for your company’s name.

3) Spamming

Unless you are David Naylor, spamming is not going to attract any potential clients. Whether you are trying to spam your company to the front page of Digg or just posting tons of useless threads on forums to build up your back links, spamming is frowned upon by most of the general population.

4) Bad spelling and grammar

This may seem like a minor detail, but bad spelling and grammar can have the same effect as a poorly designed web site. Whether its ten typos on your home page or poorly written forum posts, bad spelling and grammar makes you and your company look much less professional. This is something that can easily be avoided by proofreading what you type before you post or submit it. If you really have a hard time putting together coherent sentences, invest in a copy of The Elements of Style.

5) Taking on jobs that you can’t handle

If you take on a client and promise them that their web site will rank on the first page of Google for Viagra, chances are that relationship is going to end badly. It is extremely important to not only be realistic with your clients about their expectations, but also not to ever take on a job that you know you won’t be able to accomplish. Taking someone’s money and not delivering results is a guaranteed way to drag your company’s name and reputation through the mud!

6 Ideas To Improve Your Dropshipping Website

I talk to a lot of people who are doing business online everyday (no surprise given my industry). Come to think about it, almost every single one of my conversations are with Internet business owners and 90% of them ask me the same question; "Would you please take a look at my website, and give me any ideas on how to improve it?" Besides helping business owners find products to dropship, I own my own business online and have been where these people are. I love to help in every area that I can, or have time for.

I have narrowed down what I think are the top 6 ideas to improving a dropshipping website -

1. Site Structure - Make sure your site loads fast, and that the code is clean. If you built the website yourself, or had someone else build it, did you make sure (you or) they used CSS, and that it validates. When using CSS you make sure that everything on the site is uniform. The font size, style of font, colors used etc. You will lose more customers then you realize by having a site that looks like it was designed by a 6th grader in a computer class. I know you have seen them. Text that is a rainbow of colors. First paragraph green, second paragraph red, next yellow and so on (just repeat any color you can think of and you get the point). Creating a site like this is very unprofessional and you will not be taken serious.

2. Images, graphics and banners - Make sure that you are using the cleanest looking, fastest loading and most optimized images you can. There are several programs out there that will help you optimize your images for the web. You may even have some software on your computer and not even know it. Most programs like Photo Shop, or Paint Shop Pro (even the basic operating system photo programs) have image optimization programs that can help speed up the load time and clarity of the photo. The more images that can help describe the product you are selling, the better. Remember the saying that a picture is worth a thousand words.

3. Site Navigation - If your potential customers can't browse through your site easily, or feel they are lost, you will lose them 80% of the time from my experience and website analytics tracking. I try to follow the "3 click rule", meaning that it will not take people more then 3 clicks to get to your shopping cart. Also make sure you add an html site map and a universal search engine site map so the search engines can know about the pages you are offering and when they are updated. Doing this will help you have the freshest content from your site on the search engines.

4. Amazing Unique Keyword Rich Content - The more information you can provide the better. People get on search engines to look for what? Information. If you are not providing information that is at the very least better then your competition, then you might as well give up. For example, if you are working with a supplier, and so are 1000 other people, how many of those people do you think are just copy and pasting the product descriptions and not doing anything they can to make it their own using the keywords they want to target? Most of those people are not doing anything to make their content better (from my experience) so even just changing things around a little and making the content better by being more descriptive and using more keywords will put you ahead of the competition 100%.

5. Make Me Feel Safe - If you do not have any kind of SSL certificate, BBL logo, or "hacker safe" logo on your site, then you need to research these out and do whatever you can to get at least one of these added to your site where visitors can clearly see. With all of the talk going on about identity theft people are very weary these days about giving credit card info online. So, anything you can do to help people feel safer on your site (even a little bit) will help increase sales.

6. Contact Info - People are curious by nature, and the thing that runs through my mind more then anything when I am visiting a site is - "Who is the person behind this?" I want to know that I can talk to a human if needed and that someone will be there to actually answer my email or return my call. Make sure you have a phone number where people can contact you, email address and mailing address. When people know they can contact you they feel safer and will be less hesitant to purchase from you.

I have blogged a lot about these topics in the past, but i wanted to do a new post and talk about what I believe are the most important things you can be doing right now to improve how things are going on your website. These are not hard or costly steps, but will take some time and planning. If you get started implementing them now it will pay off in the long run.

'Father' Of The Internet

Tim Berners-Lee, while working as an independent consultant at a nuclear research laboratory in 1980, developed an innovative way of storing information in a program named Enquire.

That work was later used as the foundation for the development of a global hypertext system - popularly known as the Internet or the World Wide Web.

The WWW was developed to increase the ease with which people could exchange information. This became a reality with the introduction of the first WYSWIG (What You See Is What You Get) hypertext web browser which was written by Tim Berners-Lee.

The advantage of the WWW over previous systems was the lack of a need for a centralized server. In short, this meant that it was just as easy to retrieve, as well as link to, a document that was down the hall as across the world.

This was a huge breakthrough in computing science.

The Web and the first web server were released to the hypertext communities in mid 1991, after being released within CERN in late 1990. In order to achieve a coherent standard for the WWW, specifications for URLs, HTML and HTTP were published.

The universality forced by these specifications, the non-dependence on a central server and decision by Berners-Lee not to profit from the WWW led to a high level of adoption of the technology between 1991-94. A ten fold increase in annual traffic was recorded on the first Web server during this period.

With the advent of the Web, a number of spin-off technologies have emerged. A vast array of server side, client side and database languages have been created to fulfill needs of businesses and individuals.

There are two types of programming languages used on the WWW: client-side and server-side.

A client-side language is executed in the users' browser and is not dependent upon the Web server. Client-side programming is done almost exclusively with JavaScript.

A server-side language executes on the Web server. In recent years server-side programming has become more popular than client-side programming because it is independent of the type of browser that the surfer is using. Programmers refer to this as being 'cross-platform'. Perl, PHP, ASP and JSP are popular client-side programming languages.

Databases have been developed to allow for 'dynamic' websites.

Dynamic websites allow for a high level of personalization when retrieving information.

Whenever you type in values in a form on a web page - whether those values are for a user id and password, the characteristics of your ideal partner or an author's name - it's a 'dynamic' web site. That is just a way of saying that there is a database being used to run the website.

Popular databases used include MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle.

An area of the WWW that Berners-Lee has direct involvement is in his role as the Director of the World Wide Web Consortium (WC3) which has existed since 1994.

The aim of the WC3 is to achieve coherent standards between all companies using web technologies such as HTML, CSS and XML. Prior to the creation of the standards detailed by the WC3, companies used different standards, which led to potential incompatibilities. The WC3 remedied this by creating an open forum - allowing companies to agree on core standards for WWW technologies.

The future of Berners-Lee's influence on modern computing is in the context of the Semantic Web. 'Semantic' means 'meaning'.

A semantic web is one where elements that appear in a document hold some meaning that can be automatically processed by a machine in some form of data gathering. Currently, documents on the WWW written in HTML hold no meaning they're presentation based.

Tim Berners-Lee laid the conceptual foundation for the World Wide Web. It was his initial idea to create a way where information could be freely and easily exchanged. The standards associated with it and the lack of reliance upon a central server, gave the Web a cross platform advantage and independence, which led to its meteoric rise in popularity.

In turn, its popularity spawned and popularized many different programming languages, databases, markup standards, servers - as well as - viruses and worms.

However, while Tim Berners-Lee is the 'father' of the Internet, its development over the years is a result of the efforts of an extraordinary number of individuals. There is little question that 500 or 1,000 years from now, historians will look at the invention of the Internet as one of those rare, seminal historical events - much like Gutenberg's printing press.
